DASQI is a golf GPS rangefinder ODM/OEM manufacturer founded in 2012 by GPS and consumer-electronics veterans. We have launched 20+ golf GPS rangefinders for leading brands in the United States, Korea, Japan and China — and every one of them reached mass production.
DASQI was founded in 2012 by a group of engineers who had spent their careers making GPS work in the hardest conditions — inside phones, inside watches, and inside products that had to survive being dropped, rained on and carried in a golf bag for five hours.
Paul Zhang
Twenty years in GNSS and consumer electronics, with senior engineering and project management roles at Motorola and Agilent before founding DASQI. Started the company because GPS and wearable devices in 2012 were neither accurate or usable. Still signs off the architecture on every new programme.
12+ years of experience in enterprise-wide business operation, market development and team management. Specializes in full-channel market expansion, key account business negotiation, business system establishment, team performance management, revenue growth operation and cross-departmental resource coordination. Possesses mature middle & senior management mindset and commercial implementation capability.
Came from Foxconn, where he ran NPI for high-volume wearables. Brought the M-Gate process with him — ten gates, written exit criteria, no surprises at the end. Responsible for turning a concept into something a line can actually build at 800,000 units a month.
Since 2012 we have delivered 310+ programmes across GPS categories. Within that, 20+ golf GPS rangefinders have been designed, engineered, certified and mass-produced for leading golf brands — handhelds, watches, speakers and hybrid laser devices. All of them launched. None failed to reach production. Our customers today include leading golf brands in the United States, Korea, Japan and China, the four markets where golf GPS adoption is highest and product expectations are hardest to meet.
Our founding team came from Agilent, Motorola and Foxconn, bringing GNSS tuning, RF, firmware and scaled manufacturing into one company. The first years were spent on GPS watches and positioning modules for outdoor, healthcare and industrial customers — products where a positioning error was not an inconvenience.
Golf found us. The same problems — fast first fix under tree cover, accurate distance to a target you cannot see, a database that has to be right on 43,000 courses — were the hardest version of what we already did. Since then golf has become the core of the business: 20+ rangefinders launched, all of them in production.
Today more than 50 engineers and 300+ operators work across 6,700+ m² in Shenzhen and Taipei. Shenzhen handles hardware, tooling and volume manufacturing; Taipei handles software, app and course data. One accountable leader owns each programme from kickoff to final shipment.
Audit-ready by default. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BSCI and SMETA are the floor, not the ceiling.

Dual-site operations give us time-zone coverage, supply-chain resilience and a split of labour that most hardware ODMs cannot offer. Shenzhen owns industrial design, mechanical engineering, tooling, SMT and volume manufacturing. Taipei owns firmware, the golf algorithms, the iOS and Android apps, the cloud backend and the 43,000+ course map database. One programme, two sites, a single accountable lead.
